Two different people over the course of a couple of days post/email/comment something to me about this one place in Mexico… I call it Fate telling me that I need to jump in a giant fuckin’ hole in the ground…

I’m going to be changing web hosts VERY quickly… the current host had a server migration this past weekend and the data center is telling them what they can and cannot run on the server in terms of applications. One of the key reasons for me sticking with this company was that they had Fantastico available. But now they allegedly can’t use it because of “numerous security risks” without telling their customers?
Total bullshit… the only security risk is the web host not keeping the scripts updated whenever there is a newer version made available.
And all the while this web hosting company continues to sell their hosting packages as having Fantastico available. For me, Fantastico is a great convenience since I can quickly go in and install and install something rather quickly if wanting to do test runs of something instead of having to go through and making sure that I have various files pointing correctly to other files across who knows how many subdomains.
So with that said… I am in the process of looking through some new possible candidate web hosts that hopefully aren’t going to screw me over. Maybe something with some more space available to me. Also in the process of grabbing back-up of everything. More concerned about the images and posts than anything else right now.
If for some reason in the next week or two you try and access this site and find you are unable to get through there is a good chance I’m changing over. Give it a couple of days… things should return to normal after that.
